The Child Status Index (CSI) provides a framework for identifying the needs of children, creating individualised goal-directed service plans for use in monitoring the well-being of children and households, and program-level monitoring and planning at the local level.

PYAO uses CSI to generate data and issues affecting the children in the communities while solutions being generated through the same process, and it requires a lot of documentation. This tool is very friendly even to those with low levels of illiterate. University Research Company provided capacity on this tool through Thandizo CBO since 2017.
